Start an outbound call Live

Place a call to a contact from their record or a conversation — Landing Zone bridges your phone to the contact and logs the result.

You can call any contact directly from their record or from an open conversation. Landing Zone bridges your own phone to the contact, checks compliance gates before connecting, and logs every call so your outreach history stays complete.

Before you start

  • Calling configured for your workspace — see Configure calling.
  • The contact you want to reach in Contacts.
  • A phone you can answer: the call is bridged through your own phone, not through your computer's speakers.

Steps

  1. Open the contact. Go to Contacts and open the contact's record, or open an existing conversation with them in Inboxes.
  2. Start the call with the click-to-call control. For details on where the control appears, see Use click-to-call.
  3. Let the compliance checks run. Calls are compliance-gated: a contact inside quiet hours or on your suppression list is blocked before the call is placed.
  4. Answer your own phone. The platform bridges your phone to the contact — your phone connects first, then the contact's number is dialed.
  5. Have the conversation. When the contact answers, you are connected.
  6. Set a disposition. Every call is logged, and dispositions let you record the outcome — reached, voicemail, not interested, and so on — so the call history stays useful.
  7. Plan the follow-up. Add a note on the contact record so the next touch has context, whether that's another call, an email, or a text.

Limitations

  • There is no auto-dialing or predictive dialing. Calls are placed one at a time, each one started by you.
  • Compliance gates apply to every call: quiet hours (by default 9 PM to 8 AM in the contact's local time) and DNC/suppression checks. See Calling considerations.
  • The call happens on your own phone. Keep it nearby and able to receive calls before you start.
