Create an email batch Live
Pick an audience, choose a template and signature, preview exclusions and counts, then approve and start your email send.
An email batch sends one message to many contacts at once. Every batch in Landing Zone moves through the same loop — draft, preview, approve, send — and tracks its results per batch, so you always know what a specific send did.
Before you start
- A connected email account — set one up under Settings → Email accounts. See Configure email.
- An audience: a list, or contacts organized with tags. See Tag and segment contacts.
- Optional but recommended: a reusable template and a signature. See Create templates.
Steps
- Open Batches and create a new email batch. It starts as a draft, so nothing sends until you approve it.
- Pick your audience. Choose a list, or select contacts by tags.
- Choose a template. Templates support merge fields and spin syntax, so each contact receives a personalized variant of your message.
- Set the sending account and signature. The batch sends from one of your
connected email accounts. If your template includes the
{{signature}}token, that account's signature is inserted automatically — see Set up email signatures. - Preview the batch. The preview shows your recipient counts and any exclusions, so you can see exactly who will receive the message — and who was removed, such as contacts on your suppression list or contacts who opted out.
- Approve and start the send. The batch moves from draft into its send loop. You can pause, resume, or stop it while it runs — see Pause or stop outreach.
- Track the results. Each batch tracks opens, bounces, replies, and opt-outs. Replies land in your unified inbox — see Review replies in the unified inbox.
Limitations
- Every batch email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and opt-outs are tracked per batch. Contacts who opt out are suppressed from future sends — never re-add them. See Handle opt-outs.
- Once a message has been sent, it cannot be recalled. Pausing or stopping a batch only affects messages that have not gone out yet.
- Sending requires a working connected email account. An unverified or disconnected account is a common cause of failed sends — see Understand a failed send.
Frequently asked questions
Can I personalize each email in a batch?
Yes. Templates support merge fields for per-contact details and spin syntax for message variants, so recipients do not all get an identical email.
Can I pause a batch after it starts?
Yes. A running batch can be paused, resumed, or stopped from Batches. Messages already sent cannot be recalled.
Where do replies go?
Replies arrive in the inbox for the email account that sent the batch, and each batch tracks its own reply count.
