Import a CSV Live
Upload a CSV or XLSX, map columns, record opt-in consent, and review the import report in Landing Zone.
The Import page brings a spreadsheet of contacts into your workspace as a list — upload the file, map its columns, record where the opt-in came from, and review what made it in.
Before you start
- A CSV or XLSX file with a header row.
- The opt-in details for the contacts in the file — the source, date, and details are recorded during import, and the acknowledgment is required.
Steps
- Open Import. Go to Import in the Landing Zone app.
- Upload your CSV or XLSX file.
- Check the sample preview. Landing Zone shows sample rows so you can confirm the file reads correctly before going further.
- Map your columns. Match each spreadsheet column to a Landing Zone field. Mapping profiles are reusable across imports — see Map imported columns.
- Record the opt-in acknowledgment. This step is required. You record the consent source, date, and details with the import, and confirm you have a lawful basis to contact these recipients. See Consent records.
- Review the screening and cost details. The import flow includes a DNC & Litigator Scrub run — review any cost estimate shown before you confirm.
- Run the import and review the report. Invalid rows are dropped, counted, and reported. If the dropped count is high, fix the file and upload the corrected file again — see Resolve import errors.
- Review the screening results before outreach. Check the scrub results, with reasons, for your new list — see Review screening results.
Limitations
- Invalid rows are dropped, not repaired. They are counted and reported so you can fix the source file.
- The opt-in acknowledgment is required to run an import. Consent statuses are UNVERIFIED, VERIFIED, or REVOKED, and imported contacts default to UNVERIFIED until an opt-in is recorded — batch and campaign SMS require VERIFIED consent.
- Importing a list does not by itself make contacts eligible for outreach — screening, suppression, quiet hours, and cooldowns still apply at send time.
Frequently asked questions
What file types can I import?
CSV and XLSX.
What happens to rows with bad data?
They are dropped from the import, counted, and reported. Fix them in the source file and upload the corrected file again.
Is the opt-in acknowledgment optional?
No. Recording the opt-in source, date, and details — and confirming a lawful basis to contact the recipients — is required to run the import.
