Update CRM records Live
Edit contact fields, custom fields, notes, consent status, and tags — one record at a time or in bulk.
Every contact in Contacts is a full record: standard and custom fields, tags, attached properties, notes, consent, and outreach history. This guide covers keeping those records current.
Before you start
- Contacts in your workspace.
- For consent updates: the proof behind the change — the source, date, and details of the opt-in or revocation.
Steps
- Open the contact in Contacts. Go to Contacts and open the record.
- Edit contact fields. Update standard fields and any custom fields your workspace has defined.
- Add a note. Capture context — what was discussed, what happens next — so the record tells the story.
- Update consent status. Consent is UNVERIFIED, VERIFIED, or REVOKED, with recorded proof (source, date, details). Batch and campaign SMS require VERIFIED consent — see Consent records.
- Manage tags. Add and remove tags on the record — see Tag and segment contacts.
- Work in bulk where it's supported. Select multiple contacts to add or remove tags in bulk, delete in bulk, or export a CSV.
- Review outreach history before the next touch. The record shows past outreach, so you can see what has already been sent before you follow up.
Limitations
- Bulk operations cover tagging, deletion, and export. Other fields are edited per record.
- Marking consent VERIFIED should reflect real recorded proof — the source, date, and details you enter are the record you'll rely on.
- Deeper audit history is kept by the platform, but there is no dedicated in-app audit viewer screen yet — the contact record's outreach history is where you review past activity.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit many contacts at once?
Bulk operations cover tag add/remove, delete, and CSV export. Field-level edits happen on the individual record.
Where do I see past outreach for a contact?
On the contact record — its outreach history shows what has been sent and when.
