Create your first list
The shortest path to a usable list: import a CSV, map columns, record the opt-in acknowledgment, and run screening.
The fastest way to a working list is importing a CSV you already have. The import flow handles upload, column mapping, consent capture, and screening in one pass — this page is the short version; import a list has every option.
Before you start
- A CSV or XLSX file of contacts.
- Knowledge of how these contacts opted in — the import asks you to acknowledge a lawful basis for contacting them.
Steps
- Open Import in the app navigation.
- Upload your CSV or XLSX file — a sample preview shows how rows will be read.
- Map your columns to contact fields, and save the mapping as a reusable profile so future imports of the same file shape are one click. See map imported columns.
- Record the opt-in acknowledgment — you confirm A2P 10DLC compliance and that you have a lawful basis to contact these recipients. This is also where opt-in consent is captured for the imported contacts.
- Run screening — the DNC & Litigator Scrub runs against your suppression list and imported DNC data, with a cost estimate shown before anything is charged.
- Review the results — invalid rows are dropped, counted, and reported; see resolve import errors if the numbers look wrong. You can download the list at any time.
Limitations
- Imported contacts default to UNVERIFIED SMS and call consent until an opt-in is recorded — the acknowledgment at import is where that starts. See consent and contact permissions.
- Screening checks your workspace suppression list and imported DNC data; it does not query the national DNC registry live.
- Invalid rows are not imported — they are dropped and reported so you can fix the source file.
